This term we learnt about directions. We used a compass and words like clockwise and anticlockwise to move to places. We also learnt how to find things on a grid using references. We learnt how to play Battleships and it was fun.
In Term 2 we wrote about our thoughts on Autumn. We had to use our senses like smell, hear and see to write about what we thought Autumn meant to us. We also learnt how to write Diamante Poems. These poems follow a language pattern and are shaped like a diamond. We chose an animal for our first poem. Our second poem used the same language features like adjectives and verbs but this time we had to compare and contrast a subject like day and night. Here are some examples for you to see in a slide shoe
Today we made Anzac biscuits with some of our class. A lot of kids were away at choir so we had the fun of making biscuits with Mrs Cameron. The first biscuits were really tasty but the second batch were missing a vital ingredient, so they were called "sugar free".
Here is the recipe for ANZAC biscuits with sugar!
125g flour 100g butter
150g sugar 1Tbsp golden syrup
1 cup of coconut 1/2 tsp bicarb soda
1 cup rolled oats 2Tbsp boiling water
Mix together flour, sugar, coconut and rolled oats. Melt butter and golden syrup. Dissolve Bicarb soda in the boiling water and add to the butter and golden syrup. Make a well in the centre of flour, stir in the liquid. Place in spoonfuls on greased trays . Bake 15-20 minutes at 180oC.
