Today we worked on our drawing skills - trying to draw only what we could see in a photo. We cut up some photos from camp and tried to draw in missing parts. We found it really hard at first but we worked hard to train our brain and eyes to only draw what we could see, not what we thought should be there. We learnt that you need to observe the photo carefully e.g. if you can see 6 teeth in the photo, then you need to draw 6 teeth. We also worked with a partner to give feedback. Check out some photos of our work:
Last week we all finished our Who Am I art. They look great around the top wall of our classroom. Come in and check them out!
We have been working on a piece of art called - 'Who Am I' since the start of the year. We have been looking at identity and things that are important to us or represent us. During the art lessons, we have created a background from paint, designed our name in block letters using pastel and dye and worked on pastel and collage skills to create a self-portrait. Check out our finished faces...1/2 has been done in pastel and the other half in collage. We could choose which parts to do in each technique. Come into the classroom and see the finished products on our wall.
